Resilience Grant
Over the next two years, we will fund four mission-aligned partner organisations to work with us to achieve racial and economic justice for our primary community.
Each partner organisation will receive £50,000 from us to build their capacity, advocacy skills, systems, and broaden their networks of influences to become effective community advocates that strive to achieve social and economic justice for their community and wider society. By the end of the two years, these organisations will have increased their reach and depth of impact.
In response to the negative impacts of COVID-19 on our communities, we have secured a grant from Comic Relief, which enabled us to launch ATM Resilience Grants to help the BAME voluntary sector sustain core services and adapt to the challenges presented by COVID-19.
We were able to disburse £432,000 to 34 organisations across England that are the social glue of communities, enabling them to continue delivering essential, life-saving services to people who need them most. To dispense the awarded funding swiftly and effectively, we consulted with key community leaders and subject experts and sent out surveys to an existing network to determine thematic priorities and areas to fund. We designed straightforward, accessible forms for applicants and invited experts from the community to support us with the decision-making processes.
As a continuation of this intermediary grant-making model, we have been successful in securing further grants from Comic Relief, where we will fund only 4 organisations to work with us over the next 2 years to challenge racial and economic injustice.
With our funded partners, we aim to play a vital role in public policy by promoting an informed, healthy, evidence-based approach to decision-making to best respond to community needs. We will build alliances, co-produce, formulate policy papers, and develop programmes to help increase wealth and income in black and minority communities and ensure the rights and voices of marginalised people are represented.
